Well, Riptide finally got around to launching their new website. Version two of riptidemag.com.au has all the features you would expect - up to date blog, online exclusive content, and much more - all wrapped up in a well designed, user friendly template.

Head over here to see what all the fuss is about.

After another lengthy stint on the sideline, Movement 29 is due to hit stores next week. Not to be outdone, Movement will also be unveiling a new website to compliment the latest issue of the magazine.

"We have reduced to five mags a year from six, bumped up the page count each issue so you get more and made one a Photo Annual," Editor In Chief Pete Moore announced this week.

"We did this because we believe the mag should be a well thought out, well shot, well written and well designed piece of glory for your coffee table and we were missing far too many surfs to achieve this any longer doing six issues a year. We also believe the internet is the future of instantaneous media so we spent a heap of cash having developers build a special site where bodyboarders can feel warm and fuzzy."

Keep your eyes peeled on movementmag.com, fool.

Nick Ormerod has been well and truly on the job of late. A trip to Tahiti and two ventures into unchartered waters up North has kept him busy over the past month.

He also recently landed himself an invite to compete in the 2009 Shark Island Challenge and a new board sponsor, Empire. Here's the Press Release, kids.

Empire Bodyboards - a youth driven brand from the USA founded in 2006 - is very proud to announce the signing of Nick Ormerod.

In addition to Empire young guns Josh Garner, Leif Emberg, and Anthony Savoji, Nick O will now be the leader of the Empire bodyboard brand.

He's been on a mission recently having already racked up three trips since his signing with Empire one month ago. After finishing uni last year, Nick can now put 100 percent of his time into his bodyboarding career.

"I'm really stoked that it has payed off to wait for a good sponsorship deal and with a company that I'm proud to be riding for," Nick said excitedly.

"Good support, good team, good ideas, and good handcrafted boards will help me push the brand in Australia and worldwide. I've had some amazing waves lately to get the ball rolling with Empire and my surfing is feeling the best it's ever been."

Nick has been working hard with shaper Glenn Taylor and his new signature range of boards will be available this September.

Mitch Woodland has jumped aboard the blog train. His blog features exclusive videos, in depth behind the scenes stories, and is updated regularly. Click this to have a sniff.

Mitch has been on a roll lately with a standout section in the Claws And Teeth film, Pastiche and his first signature model having just been released on Pride. You'd think that would be enough, but no, the kid has gone out and started his own coaching clinic too.

“I am running a bodyboard clinic for anyone in the Margaret River area," he announced recently. "I am currently holding one session a week - usually each Saturday - and one competition per month. There is also the option of one on one sessions."

Each session is $15.00 - with an initial sign up fee of $20.00 - and runs for one to two hours. Every week participants will be provided with a DVD of personal footage from the previous session as well as a handout on the weeks subject. Topics covered include fitness, diet, competition and free surfing techniques and much more.

If you are interested in progressing your bodyboarding with the help of one of Australia's up and coming stars, please contact Mitch Woodland by clicking here.
